At long last, the official Twitter app is now available for the iPad. Although available for the iPhone for some time now, Twitter has just updated their app to version 3.1 and includes compatibility and features that take advantage of the iPad platform. Twitter for the iPad offers up the following additional features:

  • Brings your Tweets together with web pages, photos, videos and more.
  • Tap on any Tweet and a related content pane will open, displaying any linked content from the Tweet, including web pages, profile information, hashtag searches and similar users.
  • Slide panels from side to side and quickly navigate through related content.
  • Quickly peek into a Tweet by pinching on a Tweet to unfold related information and actions, and use two fingers to drag on a Tweet to reveal replies.

It’s very nice to see Twitter offer up some features that utilize the bigger screen and capabilities of the iPad. It’s a FREE download, so get the app and try it out for yourself. Post a Comment if you have something to say about Twitter’s new iPad version.
