Normally I read hardbacks, and have been telling myself I need to start to use the iBooks application, or the Kindle application on my iPad & iPhone.
So, with that in mind, I thought to myself, the iPad would be the best suited. But, if I’m going to use that, I’m going to need something to carry it in to take it to work. I tend to read during my lunch period, it helps me to segregate from work, and get a true break from it all.
Anyway, yesterday, I headed off to Best Buy. Why? Well, I had a $30 coupon, which I got from aquiring points from buying things at Best Buy. At my Best Buy location though, they don’t sell the iPad, thus the section for accessories is VERY small, something like a quarter of an aisle.
I looked at the selection of items, and thought, I must get something with a handle. With that in mind, I set my sights on a Targus Slipcase. Read on for my review and some pictures!
It’s small, compact and very cushy inside…
I have an Otterbox Commuter case on my iPad at present, thus making it a little larger than the average looking iPad. With my visit to Best Buy, I didn’t take my iPad with me, so I was really taking a risk when I bought this Targus case, for $34.99. Well, for me it was really $4.99 out of pocket
As you will see from the image, it’s almost cute looking, no?
I wouldn’t recommend having the bag too close to any sort of heat\fire. It has a feel as if it would catch fire in an instant; it’s Nylon microfiber. Albeit, it feels smooth to the touch, and yet very comfortable in the hand. The handles on it remind me of a seatbelt material, like in a car. Tugging on the handles, I can tell they are strong, and they have no intension of going anywhere. If anything, I’d expect the slipcase to ‘die’ long before anything happened to the handles.
On the inside of the case, as you’ll notice in this image…
…it’s all white and fluffy. If you’ve ever put your hand in a bag of cotton balls; yep, that’s what it feels like. Since it has that effect, whether your iPad had a cover on it or not, it will be protected from scratches and the likes while in the slipcase. And not to mention a nice soft feel against it’s screen
In the image, you’ll also notice that I have the Otterbox installed on my iPad. Now, be aware of this, it’s a VERY snug fit with that case on. But, of course, I could always take it off. With the standard case provided by Apple, the edges of it tend to get caught when trying to zip up the case. The case itself doesn’t open all the way around. It’s more of a lip that opens, see image below…
From the above image you can also see the starting and ending points for the zip(s).On the outside of the case there are also three additonal pockets. One on either side of the handle, almost hidden. They are created with a tac as a open\close option. There is one more zipped area, that you can see in the above image, and again, it’s all warm and soft in there. Not too sure what I’d want to put in there. Even if I put the USB cable in, I don’t think I’d want the charger. That would just make it bulky; then again, would it fit? Hmm…
Feel free to share your thoughts, and what case solutions you’re using for your iPad…

Nice find and nice review, Ivan. Thanks for the post!
